As far as I'm concerned, the season lasts from SEP 1st through NOV 31st & we're already here.
As Mr. Jourgensen once said;
"Halloween is everyday."
This week's been an excellent lead-in to the Autumn season
starting w/ three new commissions. Two tatts; the first already complete (on the right -->) &'ll be posted in a few days. The second's a beautiful batch of insanities that should bear fruit w/in the next couple weeks.
The third commission is a book cover & a breath of fresh air. Sequentials (comics) & tatts challenge me out of my comfort zone & keep me sharp, I love them. But illustrating portraits & scenes are my passion, and it's refilling to come back to that.
But back to me drooling o'er the forthcoming All Hallow's Eve (sixty-one days 'till Halloween, Silver Shamrock!) In celebration of this, we're gonna be kickin' off the season at SCAREFEST 11 in two weeks, September 14th-16th!
Last year was my first at SCAREFEST,
and the folks running it couldn't have been more phenomenal. There was a slight cluster w/ traffic around the celebrity wing, but that's mostly due to how bad@$$ the celebrity section was & they've re-patterned to make sure it doesn't happen again.
Speaking of celebs though, this year they have reunions from SAW, Hellraiser, Friday the 13th, & frickin'
ELVIRA MISTRESS OF THE DARK!!
For my part, I'll have two tables at the Con ( D7 & D8 ), featuring all sorts of shenanigans. I've added some limited edition Lustre-coated prints along w/ the usual 11x17" & 8x10" prints you're used to. I think you'll agree the lustre-coating really brings the artwork to (un)life. I have some new display set-ups so I can have more framed, Original illustrations for viewing. And my friend Timikia will be helping me out at the booth so you'll never have to wait to get arted. If the shipping gods permit, I'll have a few extra special surprises in store for folks who want a more tactile representation of the neo-noir.
As always, I'll be drawing live & taking commissions. Come nerd out at booth D7/D8!
After next week's blog I'll start making entries bi-weekly so more time can be put towards my creations. This'll also make sure that these blogs remain entertaining (newsworthy?). In the interim, hit me up on any of my social media accounts (funky blue buttons below). Or if you really want to get involved, become a part of my haunted Patreon. There's plenty of free bad@$$ery up for grabs over there, & even more for just a couple o' bucks. Go check it out!
P.S. - A huge thanks to great friends over at my haunted Patreon, especially Tre Heckerman & Mary Anne Shwartz for their support and fellowship!
