a Clockwork Orange: a bit of the ol' ultraviolence.

A Clockwork Orange is, understandably, too disturbing for many. But when I watch this film I can’t help but see the beauty. In the storytelling; all satire and tragedy. In Alex De’Large, the perfect privileged pretty boy gone terribly, terribly wrong despite his clear advantages who Malcolm McDowell boldly and brilliantly embodies. And in the question of who really is the monster? And who must become monsters to protect perceived innocence from the monsters we create? Kubrick’s aesthetics are entrancing. This is one of the few films I could watch on infinite loop and never be bored of it.
