I've been a comic book nerd since childhood. And a geek for mythologies just as long. The heroes of Greek, Roman, and Norse were the supermen of the past. I felt that Marvel's Thor did a wonderful job of weaving history back into the mythos of its hero, but for this I wanted to take things even further.
The serpent of Midgard can be seen lurking behind Thor's clutches. The floating city of Asgard above the winding limbs of Yggdrasil. I went a little Tolkein with my interpretation of the Bifrost, and chose the female version of Loki based on the spectacular cosplay by R1ddle. I poured references of Loki's sigil and the Norse serpent of change along with runic 'liar' and 'lies' in Loki's armor. For Thor, the classic Kirby design infused with the ancient sigil of Thor's hammer with classic designs and runes related to the god of thunder.
In the frame is a poem I wrote to encapsulate the brother's lifelong struggle.
"Love is gone. Lies are gone. We brothers in pain everlasting."
